I have been so terrible about updating. I look back to my posts in 2003 and I can only marvel at my constant (albeit very embarrassing) updates.
2009 has treated me well. It's had it's ups and it's downs but overall it's been good. I managed to land an internship in a B2B publishing firm as a Marketing intern for 3 months this summer. Internship = unpaid labour...but it all paid off in the end. I was offered a full time position for when I graduate (2010) and am permitted to work part time from home during the school year. It's not my not dream job, but the pay is good and the company has been very good to me.
August was my month off and I spent nearly 2 weeks running off to Montreal. I love Toronto, but there's just something about Montreal...the city is very green and bike friendly. I loved the houses and lack of condos, and everything was just so quaint.
I stayed at Joan's place and fun times were to be had. I definitely "lived" a little and experienced new things. I surprised myself at times and took risks. Above all, I think I gained a little more self confidence.
Before leaving for Montreal, I hacked off most of my already-fairly-short hair. I also bought myself a Leica M2 + collapsible 50mm Summicron + lots of expired film in preparation for the trip.

Another year of hope, resolutions and trying something new has crept up on me once again. It's been good. Winter vacation was spent frolicking in California. We visited LA, San Francisco, Los Vegas and San Jose.
I thought LA and Los Vegas were kind of ugly. San Francisco was gorgeous, I have kind of fallen in love with the place. San Jose was alright, the best part about San Jose is that it's 45min away from San Francisco. The whole trip was...eventful. As the designated photographer bitch here are some pictures:

Back to Ottawa! YES YES YES. Fuck yessss. God I hate exam period. It's stressful, bad on the body and tiring. I feel pretty happy at this moment. I mean aside from the fact that there's 30cm of snow on the ground, -20 to 30 degrees in temperature and OC transpo being on strike...it's pretty damn nice.
Christmas is coming up soon and I will be forced to spend it in California...=(
It's going to be so weird NOT having snow on the ground.
